Connectors
The connector settings page contains global defaults that apply to all connectors of a specific type. These values are not configured per individual connector.
Changing a value here affects every connector of that type on the Reniway Edge instance.
TwinCAT ADS Connector
The ADS section manages the local AMS Net ID used by Reniway Edge for TwinCAT ADS communication.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Local ADS Net ID | Identifier used by the TwinCat ADS protocol. |
You can:
- enter the AMS Net ID manually
- use the reset button to reload the currently active value
- use the random button to generate a new candidate AMS Net ID
- confirm the new value to apply it
Use this setting when the Reniway Edge device must identify itself correctly to Beckhoff or other ADS-based systems on the network.
OPC UA Client1
The OPC UA client section controls certificate validation behavior for Reniway OPC UA client connectors.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Auto Accept Certificates | Allow OPC UA connectors to automatically accept certificates from servers. |
| Reject SHA1 Signed Certificates | Reject certificates that still use SHA1 signatures. |
Auto Accept Certificates
When enabled, OPC UA client connectors automatically trust previously unknown server certificates. This is convenient during commissioning, but less strict from a security perspective.
When disabled, certificates must be handled explicitly through the certificate management workflow.
Reject SHA1 Signed Certificates
When enabled, certificates signed with SHA1 are rejected. This is the stricter and more secure option.
Use this setting when you want to prevent old or weak certificate signatures from being accepted by the OPC UA client stack.
